Rekody is a free, open-source dictation app for macOS. Hold Option + Space, speak naturally, and your words appear at the cursor in any app. It works on your Mac, so your audio stays local and nothing is sent to a server. There is also a command-line version for terminal users. It is designed to feel fast and simple, with a quick hold-to-talk mode for short notes and a tap-to-talk mode for longer dictation. It supports macOS 13+, runs on Apple Silicon, and offers Intel support through the CLI. No account is needed, and there is no telemetry.
